HomeCU™ Live! - Home Banking Solution
Member account access online, in real time, anytime.
Immediate Access, Round the Clock
In addition to offering all of the great features of
HomeCU Offline, HomeCU Live! communicates with your
core system instantly, giving your members up-to-the-minute,
accurate information whenever they login. And when we
say “instantly,” we mean it! HomeCU has
one of the best response times of any home banking system
in the industry.
HomeCU’s speed is due to something called “data
caching and persistence.” When a member logs in,
all of their account information is taken from your
core system and loaded into the HomeCU caching database.
That data stays in the database for as long as the member
stays at your site, eliminating the need for “round
trips” to your core system and speeding up the
home banking process. At the same time, an Internet
appliance at your facility monitors the core system
and updates the cached data any time a change is made,
so the presented data is always current.
As an added benefit, data caching also means that members
working with HomeCU will be able to complete their transactions
even if the connection to your core system terminates
for any reason.
An Affordable Add-On
Many credit unions start with HomeCU Offline and then
upgrade to HomeCU Live! later. Because the live version
is based on the offline version, the transition is incredibly
easy. And while HomeCU Live! does cost a little more
than HomeCU Offline, it’s very affordable when
compared to other real-time home banking products. Also,
HomeCU’s caching features mean that you’ll
use less Internet bandwidth, reducing your communications
expenses.
Extra Security
We take some extra precautions to protect our HomeCU
Live! clients. In addition to all the security features
in HomeCU Offline, HomeCU Live! is protected by:
- Internet appliances and firewalls. HomeCU Live does
not communicate directly with your core system. Instead,
we use a highly reliable Internet appliance at the
credit union as an intermediary, protecting your system
and your sensitive data. The Internet appliance is
further protected by a dedicated firewall.
- Virtual Private Network (VPN). In layman’s
terms, a VPN acts as an encrypted tunnel for the data
to pass through so that data cannot be intercepted
as it is being passed between our servers and your
Internet appliance.
